Cabeças do Reguengo Solstício Tinto is a labor of love, born from 14 ancient grape varieties cultivated in a historic vineyard at 598 meters above sea level. The granitic soils of Serra de São Mamede provide an earthy minerality, while the east-facing exposure allows for optimal ripening conditions.
The wine is made from hand-harvested grapes, including Trincadeira, Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet, and Castelão. Fermentation occurs naturally with wild yeasts in a small 2,000-liter tank, followed by 18 months of aging in used French oak barrels. Bottled unfiltered, the wine retains its authentic structure and depth.
With 13% alcohol and only 3,296 bottles produced, Solstício Tinto is ideal for pairing with robust dishes like braised meats or wild game.
