Cabeças do Reguengo Equinócio Branco is a celebration of Portugal's vinicultural heritage, made from a blend of 14 ancient grape varieties grown in a single, east-facing vineyard in Reguengo da Serra de São Mamede. The vineyard, perched at 598 meters above sea level, is rooted in Ordovician-era granitic soils that lend the wine a distinct mineral quality.
The grapes are hand-harvested from extremely low-yield vines, ensuring exceptional concentration and purity. Post-harvest, the grapes are crushed, gently pressed, and undergo static decantation. Fermentation occurs naturally with wild yeasts, followed by 15 months of aging in used barrels, a process that enriches the wine with complexity. Malolactic fermentation enhances its texture, and the wine is bottled unfiltered to preserve its authentic character.
With its bright acidity (5.6 g/L) and a balanced alcohol level of 13%, Equinócio Branco pairs beautifully with seafood dishes, soft cheeses, or creamy risottos. Its complexity and limited production of 1,975 bottles make it a must-try for lovers of natural wines.
